Kathleen Edwards
Kathleen Edwards is a theatre artist who has dedicated herself to the enrichment
of young people through theatre. During the past eighteen years, she has
directed, choreographed, and adapted over sixty productions for the stage. Her
involvement with theatre education began in her home state, Hawaii, where she was
an actress with the nationally acclaimed Honolulu Theatre for Youth,
and has continued in Washington, where she has served as Artistic Director for
Youth Theatre Northwest,
Stroum Jewish Community Center Youth Theatre
and The Seattle Peace Theatre. Kathleen has also worked frequently as a
director for the Seattle Opera's
Young Artist Program, Village
Theatre's Kidstage, O'Dea High
School and as an artist mentor for public school teachers in South King
County through a program called Arts Impact. She is thrilled to take on the
role of Artistic Director for The Hi-Liners where she has directed The
Wizard of Oz, Annie, Les
Miserables and 42nd Street and to
have the opportunity to expand theatre education programming through
DownStage Center.
