CAMP BROADWAY! FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME THE HI-LINERS DOWNSTAGE CENTER IS OFFERING A SUMMER EDUCATION PROGRAM! THESE ARE MUSICAL THEATRE CAMPS, DESIGNED TO HELP YOUNG PERFORMERS PROGRESS IN SINGING, DANCING AND ACTING. NOT ONLY IS THIS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND REHEARSE GREAT NUMBERS FROM YOUR FAVORITE MUSICALS, IT IS ALSO A CHANCE TO PERFORM! EACH SESSION WILL CULMINATE IN A CABARET PERFORMANCE OF SCENES AND MUSICAL NUMBERS FROM SOME OF BROADWAY’S BIGGEST HITS! All classes are from 9am-noon at St. Francis of Assisi School. Lunchtime supervision is available for students who are also cast members of Mulan, Jr. RAGAMUFFIN Ages 7-15 Put on your ragged costumes and face paint smudges! This will be a week featuring show stoppers delivered by the half pints of Broadway with songs from Annie, Oliver, and Les Miserables.

Mon-Fri June 23-27 9:00am-12:00pm $150 PIRATE CAMP Ages 7-15 You’ve heard of Boot Camp - well this is more like Gleaming Booty Camp! Avast ye swains, prepare for swashbuckling fun with songs from Peter Pan and The Pirates of Penzance. Mon-Thur June 30-July 3 no camp 7/4 9:00am-12:00pm $120 HAIR KAMP Ages 7-15 Spray it, slick it back or wig it - this is musical theatre tapping into the loves and losses depicted in Hairspray, Grease, Hair, and Rent. Mon-Fri July 7-11 9:00am-12:00pm $150 Click Here To Enroll Now!   DownStage Center Classes Currently in Session Footlights Ages 3-5 The focus in this class is on collaboration through group performance. Skills are introduced through creative play designed to promote listening, taking turns and following directions. Each semester a new theme is introduced with appropriate stories and songs. (No class 3/19 & 4/9) Wednesday's Feb 20 thru Jun 11 (No class 3/19 & 4/9) 10:00-11:00am $150 Creative Dramatics Ages 6-9 Students at this level are ready to give focus to other performers and take on the responsibility of working in a small group. Foundation skills of listening, taking turns and following directions are practiced in the performance of a different story each semester. (No class 3/19 & 4/9) Wednesday's Feb 20 thru Jun 11 (No class 3/19 & 4/9) 4:30-5:30pm $150 Intro to Acting Ages 9-12 Introduction to Acting is the place to learn to make the physical and vocal choices necessary to develop an individual character. Students will practice projecting the voice, "cheating out" toward the audience, creating interesting stage pictures and maintaining focus. (No Class 3/21 & 4/11) Friday's Feb 22 thru Jun 13 (NO CLASS 3/21 & 4/11) 4:00-5:30pm $225 Performance Ensemble Class Description “A cohesive group, working in harmony.” Students in these classes will collaborate to improve as performers, inspiring one another to take greater risks and make bigger choices as actors. The Ensemble will be required to pursue performance opportunities in the community, and learn to conceive, design, rehearse, market and produce theatrical events from a hands-on perspective. This is a year long commitment as the first ten sessions are focused on skill building and auditioning, while the remaining sessions center on rehearsal for a final Cabaret performance of a popular Broadway musical scheduled in June. Junior Ensemble Ages 11-12 Must have permission of the Executive Director. (No class 4/8) Tuesday's Feb 26 - Jun 10 (NO CLASS 4/8) 4:00-5:30pm $225 Teen Ensemble Ages 13-18 By audition. (No Class 3/22 & 4/12) Saturday's Feb 23 - Jun 14 (NO CLASS 3/22 & 4/12) 10:00am-12:00pm $300 DownStage Center reserves the right to cancel classes if enrollment does not meet minimum requirements.
