Footlights Ages 3-5 The focus in this class is on collaboration through group performance. Skills are introduced through creative play designed to promote listening, taking turns and following directions. Each semester a new theme is introduced with appropriate stories & songs. (No class 11/26, 12/24, 12/31 & 1/7) Wednesday's Oct 8 thru Feb 11 (No class 11/26, 12/24, 12/31 & 1/7) 10:00-11:00am $150 Creative Dramatics Ages 6-9 Students at this level are ready to take on the responsibility of collaborating as a group. Foundation skills of observation, mimicry, maintaining focus, and cueing are practiced in the performance of a different story each semester. (No class 11/26, 12/24, 12/31 & 1/7) Wednesday's Oct 8 thru Feb 11 (No class 11/26, 12/24, 12/31 & 1/7) 4:30-5:30pm $150 Intro to Acting Ages 9-12 Introduction to Acting is the place to learn to make the physical and vocal choices necessary to develop an individual character. Students will practice projecting the voice, "cheating out" toward the audience, creating interesting stage pictures and improvising in small groups. (No class 11/21, 11/28, 12/26, 1/2 & 1/9) Friday's Oct 10 thru Feb 13 (No class 11/21, 11/28, 12/26, 1/2 & 1/9) 4:00-5:30pm $225 Performance Ensemble Class Description “A cohesive group, working in harmony.” Students in these classes will collaborate to improve as performers, inspiring one another to take risks and make big choices as actors, singers and dancers.  Fall semester is focused on skill building and auditioning, while Spring semester centers on rehearsal for a final Cabaret performance of a popular Broadway musical scheduled in June. Junior Ensemble Ages 11-12 Must have permission of the Executive Director. (No class 11/11, 12/23, 12/30, 1/6) Tuesday's Oct 14 thru Feb 10 (No class 11/11, 12/23, 12/30, 1/6) 4:00-5:30pm $225 Teen Ensemble Ages 13-18 By audition. (No Class 11/29, 12/27, 1/3 & 1/10) Saturday's Oct 11 thru Feb 14 (No class 11/29, 12/27, 1/3 & 1/10) 10:00am-12:00pm $300   DownStage Center reserves the right to cancel classes if enrollment does not meet minimum requirements.
